That said, The Veterinarian Medical Association has classified Colic as a series of Happenstances that
come together to form a Condition, it is not a Disease!

If you require the approval from the FDA on a product, before you use it or give to your horse, Equine Colic Relief, like some of the supplements on the market today, is a all Natural Homeopathic Product, that contains ingredients approved for use by the FDA, but not approved as process!
There is no FDA classification for such natural products, you give a horse like electrolytes to increase thirst and prevent dehydration, Biotin products to treat founder and promote hoof growth, Diatomaceous earth products to use in place of wormer and insecticides, Colic Preventative products, Weight Gain products, Mare Care products and etc.

All these commonly used products, unless a company that makes them, like Pet Alive, Farnum etc. is registered with the FDA, are required to bear the FDA disclaimer as non evaluated products, unapproved drug and/or an adulterated drugs. and what is printed material about the product.
If a manufacturer's states for example, states their product is FDA approved, it could be and then again it could be they paid $$$$$$$ to be registered with the FDA! If they are unwilling to pay the FDA and state on their product it can be used to treat or prevent founder or promote or change the growth of the hoof wall, cause weight gain, keep mares healthy, reduce or kill worms and insects or prevent dehydration and/or increase, muscle motility, etc., the FDA calls their products unapproved and/or adulterated drugs and their label, is required to bear a disclaimer,
stating it's not evaluated, by the FDA! With the government it's always about how much money you pay them, not about if your product is safe or not!
The last statement in 2008 made by the FDA's, Center of Veterinarian Medicine Division, was about medicines
and/or products unapproved use as animal health products. It stated, because of their Limited Resources, they must focus on products or incidents, that pose a known hazard to animal health and concentrate on taking enforcement actions against a manufactuer, that makes dangerous products,not just ones making fraudulent and/or exaggerated claims in their sales material and/or on their label!
Therefore; as long as the FDA disclaimer statement is on any non registered manufacturer's product label and/or a FDA approved product, they leave it up to the horse owner to decide, what they want to feed,
use on and/or give to their horse!
