consistency, that can easily be expelled from the Anus but to Stop a Bout of Colic, we Needed more Parts, for our formula !
That same year we hired Brian a Bio-Chemist & close friend of Tim's who owned a reseach Lab in Nova Scotia that had recently finished an extensive 5 year study on Equine Impaction Colic in comparision, to Constipation in Humans. His results showed both impaction colic & constipation were Happenstance Conditions, that have several factors involved, which he called Causes, to both start & continue the condition or in this case, a bout of colic. In horses 4 Causes, according to his research, occur during a Bout of Colic. They are Dehyration, Electrolyte Loss, Distention & in 75 % of cases, Impactions.
Using the Oldest Scientific Principle of Cause & Effect, he developed the final 3 Parts of the formula using 9 natural ingredients found in any food and/or health food
store. Each of the 3 parts were developed to deal with each of the 3 remaining Causes & Effecting them in a manner, that eliminates them in unison or altogether , within
a certain time span.
In the Final formula his lab combined the 1st part, which was Tim's marine formula, with the 3 parts they developed & produced an Effective 4 Part Formula, that in
unison, eliminates all 4 Causes, during a bout of Colic.
This formula works with the natural biological defenses & resources of the horse's body. It integrates them into it's 4 processes to stop a bout of Gas, Impaction & Sand Colic so the body is returned to a natural healthy state, without causing Trauma, Stress, Pain, Cramping and/or Duress so the horse can continue whatever activities , shows, races or training they were in or doing, before the bout started .
From 1996-1997 we successfully tested the 4 Part Formula on 4 of our's & 3 of our friends horses, then hired a Testing Facility in Nova Scotia to conduct a more intensive Study from 1997-1999. After receiving sucessful results in 1999, we formed Equine Colic Relief company & in both the US & Canada copyright protected the name of our company & Equine Colic Relief (ECR), the name we chose for our 4 Part Formula.
We were ready to market it so we put under contract, several Business Owners in Canada, Europe & Australia to Represent & sell it wholesale to their clients. Then in
2001 after unprecedented success, we asked these same Representative Business Owners to sort through their clients & call forth all the True Believers, who had seen ECR, stop a bout of colic in their horse.
The clients that answered our call were put under contract & opened the 1st of many Independently owned Retail Distributorship Businesses & in 2003, we put under contract more Representative Business Owners, to sell ECR wholesale in the U.S. Then as we did in 1999 & in 2005, we put the 1st of many Distributors in the U.S under contract & everyday more join with us, to Fight The Good Fight against colic !
We passed through the difficult development, testing & set up stages, then began the hardest part of our Mission, convincing owners to step out of their Colic Box long enough, to choose ECR as an alternative to Save their horses, which to date, has never been easy but when they do, has been rewarding !

HOW ECR WORKS IN AN AVERAGE SCENARIO WITH A HORSE WITH A NORMAL BOUT OF COLIC OR SAND COLIC !
First, as you known, bowel sounds are caused by the movement of matter or gas within the bowels and the scientific name for this movement, is Motility.
This scenario begins when Motility returned to the bowels within 10-30 minutes after ECR was ingested ! At that point the process in Part 1 of the formula, softened the Impaction, Part 2 hydrated the bowels & Part 3 restored Electrolytes which energized the Longitudinal & Circular Muscle Layers in the Coli Wall and restored Motility ! The process in Part 4, within 40 minutes after ECR was ingested dissipated excess gas, releasing pressure (distention) within the bowels, like letting the air out of a ballon. In turn within 50-60 minutes after ECR was ingested, freed & returned to normal size any adjoining trapped organs & as this occured, Motility increased and bowel sounds became stronger and more rhythmic in nature.
