Our entry May 24, 1999 on Final Test Results From 1996-1999
The 4 Part formula was first tested from 1996-1997 using 7 horses belonging to us & 2 friends with a history of impaction, gas and sand colic & all 7 had a bout of colic during that time. 6 horses had a total of 6 bouts of Impaction Colic & 1 horse had 1 bout of Gas Colic & 1 had 2 bouts of Sand Colic. 7 of the bouts stopped in 60-120 minutes & the 2 bouts of Sand Colic stopped in 120-200 minutes.
All 7 horses during each bout had returning bowel sounds in 10-30 minutes after ingestion & there were no side effects in any horses during & or after each of the 9 bouts had stopped.
All 7 horses were also included in the study conducted by a Testing Facility in Nova Scotia from 1997-1999.
The final 7 horses that were selected from the 200 applicants, were
of various ages, sexes & breeds but all like the 7 we tested, had a chronic history with impaction, gas and sand Colic.
The 10 Owners of the 14 horses or their Barn Manager, participated in the study by keeping their subject or subjects, on a controlled feeding, exercise & worming regiment.
When a bout occurred, they were required to keep an accurate time response record and/or journal on each event noting all required Clinical Stages, actions, physical changes & results they observed during each bout of Colic in their subject.
Each subject prior to acceptance and after the study was concluded were required to have a complete physical, blood work up and an ultra sound done by a licensed vet. These exams were used to determine the horses were healthy and had no bowel Ruptures, Enteroliths (stones), large amounts of sand blocking the bowels, twisted or knotted bowels etc.
It also insurred, only normal bouts of Colic had occurred during the study since the horses were in perfect health prior to & after the study was concluded.
The following side notes were taken from the Testing Facility's 2 summation reports on Febuary 13th 1997 and May 23, 1999.
Febuary 13,1997;
It was agreed that the same Principle of Cause & Effect the Lab in Nova Scotia used to develop the clients 4 Part Formula was used to test it, as well.
To get an accurate Time, it was decided that the 4 parts that each comprised 1 part of formula, were divided by ingredients and each combination of ingredients making 1 part was placed in 4 separate bottles labeled with the Effect that part was to have on 1 of the 4 Causes during an event .
The observer then would be instructed, to give the 4 bottles in a 1-4 sequence, consecutively 5-10 minutes apart so there would be a response time, in their subject as each part,was being ingested.
The observer would then be able to accurately time & document their subject's responses, to all 4 of the Effects on each of the 4 Causes, that the lab deterimined, to occur during each event .
May 23,1999;
The noted Average Response Time for Vets called for 5 subjects was 2-3 hours and within that time span all 5 Subjects presented relieved of physical signs of Clinical Stages 1-3 of Colic within
90-120 minutes.
There were 9 subjects whose owners did not call a vet. 3 of the 9 presented with Sand Colic & it was noted that all 3 subjects
within 120-200 minutes had each event end & the remaining 6, averaged within 90-120 minutes for each event to end.
None of the 14 subjects during the study, required further colic treatments from any of the 5 Vets called or surgical intervention.
2 subjects were examined by 2 of the vets after they arrived but in each case the subject's event of colic had ended and they received no treatment.
We had as the Testing facility, we used stated in their notes, required they consult with Brian's lab before they began their Study in 1997.
We felt it was important as did Brian, that the same Principle of Cause & Effect his lab used, to develop our 4 Part Formula was used, to test it as well.
The Facility, not Brian's Lab or us, devised the brillant plan to separate the ingredients that made up one of the 4 parts of the Formula.
They took each group of ingredients making 1 part & placed each part into 4 separate bottles, packaged them as a set & sent 20 sets to each Owner of the 14 subjects. As instructed, each Owner or Barn Manager who they labeled as the Observer, gave them to their subject during the bout using a 1-4 sequence, 5-10 minutes apart .
The results indicated using the 1-4 sequence as a time response, each part had a begining and ending time for it's process to effect 1 of the 4 happenstances, Brian's lab determined as Causes, needed to both start and continue the bout of Colic.
This gave the Facility a true accounting of how the formula Effectively works during a bout and how it uses the horses body's natural physiological and biological defenses & resources by integrating them into the process of each part, to eliminate each Cause & Stop the bout.
The PART 1 process is Tim's 1995 Patented formula & as it's ingested enters & begins to soften impacted matter consisting usually of feces containing grass, hay, feed, dirt, some sand etc. to a soft pudding like consistency. The process ends when impaction is softened.
The PART 2 process works with the body to draw fluid into the Dehydrated bowels. Dehydration will halt Motility before or after an impaction forms and destroy Electrolytes so as it ends electrolytes can be replaced.
Note;
Electrolytes are acids, bases & salts that exist in an ionic solution. If dehydration occurs in the bowels the fluid environment they need to exist in, is no longer present. The Longitudinal & Circular Muscles lining the walls of the Coli that need Electrolytes to maintain conductive energy within their cells, to create Motility (movement)are destabalized & they will go into a state of stasis or no movement.
When Stasis occurs, the bowels stops moving and anything in them becomes impacted at that point and trouble begins as a bout of Colic.
Horses not drinking required amounts of water are candidates for these impactions & 75% will form at, the Pelvic Flexure.
The PART 3 Process Restores Electrolytes to regain Bowel Motility.
Motility or returning bowel sounds can be heard in an average time
of 10-30 minutes and will continue to increase every 20-40 minutes and as the process ends the softened impaction and or everything inside the bowels is moving forward to End the Bout.
The PART 4 Process occurs as it's ingested to Dissipate methane gas in the bowels . During a Bout, excessive methane gas from stagnanting feces will gorge the bowels extending them outward & putting pressure on all adjoining abdominal organs. These organs become trapped and as they swell, pain in the horse's abdominal area can increase in intensity on a scale of 1- being mild discomfort, to 10 causing violent behavior & self mutilation.
Note;
The process ends as the gas is dissipated & as pain & pressure is relieved the swollen organs & bowels return to a normal state & Motility is increased, as noted by stronger bowel sounds.
The 4 Part processes in the formula work with the body of the horse to pass the impaction and end the bout so there is no stress, pain or trauma and the horse can return to their life as if the bout never happened !
We don't save your horse from dying of Colic !
We simply used our common sense and the basic scientific Principles of others we hired, to put together an Alternative formula to gives quick control over a bout so you, can save them !
